was talking to someone who said they refuse to see call me by your name because Armie Hammer was in it and because of the age gap of the characters. And like, to a degree I understand but it's such a beautiful movie and the point gets so missed when people focus on who is in it or one little detail of the content, not the positive message about non stigmatized gay relationships or love or anything else about a movie that is beautiful. and like why do people watch movies? to proclaim our support for the morality of everyone involved in the making of it? or to be moved, or entertained, to experience something outside of our normal lives? to see a perspective that might be outside of our normal cliches and tropes of life? damn.
